approaching vapid with periodic bouts of genius
Oh hello hello.
Spring, my good friends, Spring, is finally here. :)
In celebration of this wonderful, illustrious, resplendent, triumphant, glorious season (and the beautiful warm sunshine it brings) I have the following to share with you:
1. I have started a new blog, specifically geared toward my crafty endeavors. I will still keep this one up, as this is the one I can use to talk about the more delicate aspects of my life (such as my new douchebag boss), however this way I don't have to bore you with the details of my knitting projects. I can just keep boring you with the details of my regular life.
One thing I'd like to note, if you do happen to visit me over there: This blog has absolutely no mention of my real name (which IS Jenny, but my last name isn't actually Willowfox) or any other identifying information, since I work with very internet-savvy peeps and don't want to be in any way identified, however the new blog IS findable by searching my real name, so I am in no way attaching the name Willowfox to it, as I work with some knitters who may someday find their way there. All I ask is that if you do visit there and are kind enough to comment, please use my name, Jenny. Thanks! If you are so inclined, you may find this new blog here.
2. The Dude, his roommate Pamela and I all decided to get off our asses on Saturday and spend the afternoon in the city. We had a mahvelous time.
With pictures!
Ken and I at the station, waiting for the subway. Which, I guess when it's above ground is just the way?

Pamela giving Ken bunny ears- Ken is obviously VERY amused.

This is me hailing our train. Good thing I was there, otherwise it totally wouldn't have stopped. It looks like that kid in the back is helping.

Oh, Boston... I love you.

While in town we stopped off at the Garment District, where I got a sweet courderoy jacket for $12. What's cool about this is that my sister bought the exact same jacket from the original company about 4 years ago and I was so jealous because the store was out of them. Then this weekend, what do I find? A used one. Perfect condition. I lurve it.
The Garment District, for those of you who are not familiar, is a two story, very funky consignment shop, with attached costume shop. It's where all the hipsters and cool kids go. Why we were there I could never explain, har. Pamela and I went in and then were basically committed for at least an hour. Ken walked around once, commented on my need for thigh high fishnets, and then proved himself to be the best boyfriend ever in existence by taking the bag I was carrying and leaving to buy us iced coffees at Dunks, which he then promptly brought back to us, so that we could be refreshed whilst shopping.
I done trained him up good, huh? Actually, I had nothing to do with that. He is simply THAT awesome.
So then we went to the Cheers at Faniuel Hall, for it had fabulous outdoor seating where we could simultaneously watch the Red Sox game (SUCK IT, JETER!) and all the people walking by (my favorites were, as always, the chicks wearing heels they couldn't walk in. I love watching that, though my schadenfreude on the matter has been somewhat tempered since I've found myself in a similar situation recently, and was thus appropriately humbled).
We had yummy frozen drinks, then beer at the Black Rose. Pamela at one point was tempted to punch a homeless guy in the nose, but I think that story is best told with the reason why left out, mainly because it just makes ya wonder.
Sunday Ken and I drove ourselves to Salem, MA, where we found a house that we love, and are now putting an offer on.
I told myself I wasn't going to tell anyone until it either fell through or worked out since I was so disappointed last time, but eff it, I'm excited. So there it is.
Today the obnoxious boss is continuing to be obnoxious, however he MAY actually be doing a good job. Either that's true, which is good because we need someone to do a good job there, or it's NOT true, and he just likes boasting about how awesome he is, all the while trying to let us think he's cool like us by hinting at his own cocaine use. For the record, I'm not sure that made any of us think he was cool. Douche.
Okay, back to the gorgeous day and work. Hope it's as lovely wherever you are!
