Hilarious at-work SNAFU story of the day:
So my company has been working for MONTHS on rebuilding this site for a local, fairly large and well known community college. They have also been working on rebuilding this site for a medical supply company.
The contact at the college was instructed to do Technical Thing #1 (I'm just the office bitch, I don't get all the tecchie speak), but instead he pushed the site ENTIRELY LIVE, which meant that anyone who typed in their address OR EVEN GOOGLED THEM would get to their not-yet-ready-for-primetime-website.
Best part? He pushed it live wrong some way, and for a full half hour this afternoon anyone who Googled, felt lucky or manually typed in this college's URL was taken directly to the front page of a company specializing in adult diapers.
The extremes being reached of simultaneous panic and hilarity in my office were really fun to watch today.
