approaching vapid with periodic bouts of genius

woohoo!
2007-03-30 : 2:09 pm

This, my friends, has turned out to be a pretty celebratory weekend for me, and in the spirit of true celebration, let me invite you to crack open a bottle of champagne to sip from wherever around the world you are, while I crack open my own to tell you why.

Today, on this very day, this 30th day in March, 2007 the year of Somebody's Lord (probably ours, but I never claimed to have all the answers and even then only some of the questions), I, Jennifer Willowfox, have, once and for all, without even doing serious damage to my bank account, paid off one of my many student loans.

PAID IT OFF! IT'S GONE! IT'S DONE!!!

Plus, and this is simply icing to that big, fat, gorgeous cake up there, this Sunday, April 1st will mark the two year anniversary of this year diary which you have so graciously allowed to decorate your screen. I thank you all.

Let's take a moment to reflect on the years, the trials and hardships, the glorious moments, which have brought us all to this weekend.

Remember the time when I made that payment to ACS?

Remember that time when this diary was blue with white writing? Ah Andrew and his templates...

Remember that time when I made that other payment to ACS?

Oh, and don't forget when I changed my diary to autumn green, with pumpkin colored links...

And then there was that time when I was late (gasp!) on that payment to ACS! Fortunately, I got my act together and paid the normal payment PLUS the late fee... Wooo! The impetuousness of my youth... chuckle.

Oh and LORD let us not forget what I like to refer to as "The White Period," when this diary was a very simple white with ocean blue type and accents...

And that brings us to today. Today when my ACS loan is ENTIRELY, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT paid off, and my diary looks vaguely like a tiki lounge, and is bizarrely reminiscent of a high fallutin hotel chain? What? Whaaaat?

Anyway, to celebrate I propose the following: Finish the work day with a minimal amount of work. Take a shower. Wash my BRAND NEW HAIRCUT! Go to the store, buy me some champagne (prounounced CH-am-PAG-nee, the way The Continental, played by Christopher WALKin {ComeAAAaadnn} would pronouce it) maybe drink some champagne, knit a bit.... Okay so I'm not going to be doing much to celebrate, but tomorrow I'm going to a sheep farm to see how they card and spin wool, and that's pretty exciting for me.

Maybe I'll have to squeeze in some celebratory moments so I can feel indulged. :)

Love you all! Thanks for reading me for TWO WHOLE YEARS! (Good Lord haven't you realized I'm not that good of a diarist yet? Meh, well, probably, but you're good to me anyway!)

Love,
Jenny

PS Happy Birthday to Matt, who is turning 29 for the second or third time (WAY TO GO!) who also happens to be celebrating this weekend.
